It’s one of our favorite holidays – the day of love! Join us for this quick round up of last minute Valentine’s Day ideas that will stretch your love all around the world.
It’s always about love at Bloom + Grace –purchasing their products ensures vaccines are donated to kids who need them, and artisans around the world are supported. We love this white and silver wrap bracelet which will deliver vaccines to eight children through the Shot@Life campaign. If you have your eye on something, Bloom + Grace will even send a subtle email hint to your loved one. Simply email them at info@bloomandgrace and they’ll take care of the rest. Use the code LOVE through February 14th for 20% off your entire purchase.
You can also join Shot@Life in their commitment to raise $100,000 to support the United Nations’ efforts to provide children in the Philippines with access to the life-saving measles vaccine. They’re aiming to raise $20,000 of that commitment in the next 20 days—during which an anonymous donor will double any donation, and double your impact. Your $20 gift will help vaccinate 20 children against measles. How’s that for a great gift for someone?
From our friends at Fistula Foundation check out the Gifts That Heal catalog – starting with an e-Valentine’s Day card at just $10. Or, take the Valentine’s Day Love A Sister Challenge—anyone who gives $225 (that’s just $18.75/month for 12 months), will have their donation matched by a generous donor, to equal $450 – the cost of a free, safe repair surgery for one woman.
Do you have students in your life? The US Fund for UNHCR, the United Nations Refugee Agency, is worried about Syrian children and babies this winter. They’ve partnered with DoSomething.org, to invite members to sell baked goods to raise funds for warm clothing, thermal blankets, support services, and formula for babies in the Syria region during February. Funds benefit the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the Karam Foundation, amazing organizations working on the ground to assist people affected by the conflict. When you youth activist signs up, they’ll receive facts on the Syrian refugee crisis, tips on setting up their stand, and printable materials to help promote their drive. They’ll also receive tried and tested chocolate chip and Syrian cookie recipes and can enter for the chance to win a $3,000 scholarship. Invite them to do something!
We’ve been big fans of the World Vision gift catalog, where you can give donations that will purchase animals and wells to serve entire communities, and buy beautiful artisan crafts for yourself or friends. We love this new addition – the Thai red bracelet – yours to keep or give away when you give $40 to World Vision.
