Global Moms in Action: Because You Matter

By Global Moms Challenge

September 19, 2014

We spend a lot of time here at the Global Moms Challenge, inviting you to take action and get involved however you can, in helping to solve the world’s big problems. We do that knowing that your lives are busy.

We know you’re working hard; whether it’s in the workforce, running your own business, operating a household, mothering 24/7, volunteering, educating and generally doing amazing things every single day. Quite honestly? We’re in awe.

GMCmomspic1Mothers, no matter where they’re from or how they live, all have one thing in common: they want a better life for their children. A mom would do everything she could to keep her child happy and healthy. We know there are moms around the world who can’t afford to send their kids to school, give them nutritious meals, or life-saving vaccinations—but we also know that mothers feel a strong bond with one another, and they want to help each other rise up.

This sense of ‘global motherhood’ is why we started the Global Moms Challenge. We want to honor and celebrate your efforts to get involved, to share stories and to care.

Cue our new column, Global Moms in Action. A few times each month, we will spotlight a mama doing great things related to the issues we talk about here. Whether it’s urging her local Congress person to support allocating funds to buy vaccines for kids in need, or reaching out to heads of big companies asking them to change their environmental practices, you’re taking action in so many ways and we want to share those with this amazing community!
