GirlUpAngelicaFuentesAngélica Fuentes is one of Mexico’s most powerful business leaders and one of Latin America’s most influential women. She is also mother to a daughter and knows how essential it is to raise girls with strength and a deep knowledge of their potential.

Yesterday, Angélica was named the newest Global Advocate for Girl Up (alongside Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan). She will be focused on supporting United Nations programs in Latin America that help adolescent girls.

“Girls everywhere are strong, they are capable, and they will determine our future. It is our responsibility to help them fulfill their dreams,” said Angélica, CEO of Grupo Omnilife Angelissima Chivas.

In her new role, Fuentes will raise awareness and advocate for UN programs that provide adolescent girls the chance to go to school, see a doctor, and stay safe from violence. She will help grow Girl Up’s impact by encouraging girls in Latin America to get involved with the campaign so they can act on behalf of girls in other countries.

Join Girl Up, or even better, share it with a tween or teen girl in your life! The campaign gives American girls ages 13-18 the opportunity to channel their energy and compassion to raise awareness and funds for UN programs that help some of the world’s hardest-to-reach adolescent girls. Give girls the opportunity to become educated, healthy, safe, counted and positioned to be the next generation of leaders.
