Every Mother Counts is Hosting the Summer of Sisterhood!

Summer of SisterhoodEvery Mother Counts wants to know: How do you define your sisterhood – who is that group of women you can’t live without, the ones you count as core members of your community? Are they your actual flesh-and-blood sisters or are they your coworkers, neighbors, college buddies or teammates?
Motherhood is its own kind of sisterhood. By choosing one or two of the activities on Every Mother Counts’ Summer Bucket List, you can join the Summer of Sisterhood and support mothers all over the world.

You can pick a book or a film from Every Mother Counts’ own fantastic lists, or add your own. They will be interviewing authors, conducting Q&A sessions and talking all over Facebook and Twitter about their favorite movies and the books they can’t put down. You can add your feedback on the sisterhood and maternal health connections you’re making.

As you travel this summer, send Every Mother Counts a photo of where you are and they will write about the maternal health facts to go with it! Or connect through food… share what you’re cooking, who’s around your table and post favorite recipes.

You’ll be in the pool anyway, so let’s make that time count for other mothers! Laps of Love can raise awareness and funds for moms in need. You and your kids can ask sponsors to donate for every lap they swim over a certain time, and every penny goes to programs supporting maternal health.

Of course, you’ll need some tunes to go with all these parties and hours by the pool.

Download tunes from the Every Mother Counts’ Compilation CDs or from ReverbNation and part of the proceeds goes to programs that support mothers and sisters who need us.
