Show Your Love to the World!

What better time to show some love than Valentine’s Day? Here are some ways you can give mothers and children a little extra support:

Vday1White Ribbon Alliance is a global network of health advocates campaigning for more resources and the right policies to keep women from dying in pregnancy and childbirth. They bring people together to demand the right to a safe birth for every woman, everywhere, by harnessing the power of local women and men to achieve lasting change. Their approach is working! Your donation will empower and educate women on their rights to health care and quality services.

Mercy Corps mission is to alleviate suffering and poverty by helping people build secure, productive and safe communities. With 93 percent of staff coming from the areas where Mercy Corps works, they have been helping people around the world survive crises and find opportunities to thrive. Whether by planting a vegetable garden to relieve hunger, or providing a microloan to help a woman support her family by starting her own business, your gift to Mercy Corps will change lives.

Save the Children gives children in the U.S. and around the world what every child deserves – a healthy start, the opportunity to learnVday2 and protection from harm. They advocate for and achieve large-scale change for children. A gift of clean water, or a gift of keeping children warm during the winter, even the gift of keeping children safe: these are the things that are done when we give to Save the Children’s Global Action Fund.

Vday3Our friends at ONE have shared a list of fair-trade gifts worth checking out for Valentine’s Day as well. We might be buying for ourselves as well as for our valentines! What will you choose?
